At PA we help our clients find new ways of looking at their data. Our analyses save people, make our lives better and create whole new ways of doing things. Our clients come from many different industries: from health to transport and from consumer goods to communications. Our data science team are the people who know how to collect and analyse their data â€" we work with structured and unstructured data from factory production lines to mobile phone systems to medical devices.

We are looking for great data scientists who are excited by the variety of work we do and will enjoy the challenge of extracting and analysing the data from our clients’ systems â€" working with them to find insights about their businesses and products. Along with our growing data science team you will work with our sector teams including consumer, healthcare and telecommunications to find those nuggets which change our client’s businesses.

In recent projects our team have:

• Analysed the blogosphere
• Created an internet of things trial for a FTSE 100 company
• Analysed live audio data to create individual sound zones
• Used neural networks to detect patterns in massive highly non-linear time-series
• Analysed millions of data items to identify hidden causes of loss in a manufacturing system
• Developed algorithms to predict critical drug delivery failures before they happen

Job Requirements
What we’re looking for
PA’s Data Science stack:
Our Data Scientists work with cutting edge tools, platforms and algorithms to get the understanding we need. We are looking for people with experience in the following technologies:

Python, Java, Scala, R, Hadoop, Spark, OpenCV, D3, React, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Image processing, Machine Learning, AI, Internet of Things

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your quantitative, programming and analysis skills to a wide variety of problems across a spectrum of industries. This role would suit candidates from a strong quantitative sciences background who would like to work on real-world problems in a highly applied environment.

We are interested in speaking to candidates who have hands on experience working on commercial data analysis projects; you could have experience in Oil & Gas, Finance, Energy, Biotech, Aerospace, Security, E-commerce or any sector that handles big data and the quantitative analysis that goes with it. To compliment the team demographic, we are looking for someone who has a technical strength in the areas of Cloud Computing and Deep Learning models.
