Description:

Our client, a global Insurance organisation has an opportunity for an experienced Solution Architect/ Designer to join their team based in London on an initial 6 month contract.

The Solution Architect is a key role within the CTO team ensuring the on-going consistency and integrity of solutions being delivered.

Specifically within Cyber Exposure, the client needs to improve the measurement of exposure, reduce uncertainty, meet the Board needs and demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements, therefore we need to enhance our cyber data capture capabilities and use this data for modelling across our portfolio.

The key responsibilities are:

Formulate High Level and Low Level Solution Design and assist in obtaining relevant signoffs throughout the review process
Contribute to and support the formulation of Business, Data and Non-Functional requirements
Participate in solution option investigations and liaise with system and business owners across the end to end solution
Contribute to project, service and test estimation and planning activities
Facilitate the design of solution components applying recognised solution and implementation design patterns
Implement proof of concepts to confirm solution, design and implementation decisions such as integration patterns, development tooling
Assist in the establishment of technical delivery practices such as coding standards, source control, branching and release strategies in an n-tier framework
Formulate the product roadmap and ensure delivery plans are aligned

Required skills:

Deep understanding of solution architecture standards, principles and solutions available in the market
Hands on development in SQL Server, MDS, ASP .NET, VBA, Tableau, Power BI and low-code
The ability to formulate prototypes, technical and functional solutions to inform the design
Experience in designing and developing solutions data capture, sourcing, migrating and conforming across all layers of the solution (databases, data flows/transfers, interfaces, logic/business, UX and Reporting)
Understanding of data management and governance at the application/implementation level such as auditing, lineage, versioning, challenges and standardisation
Establish development, delivery, release and support practices such as coding/design standards, source control, branching, release management
Experience in designing and implementing multi component applications/systems based around packages and in-house developed software
Demonstrated understanding of the full IT development lifecycle, including service design aspects to allow for appropriate management of live services
