Quash the queue with WoraPay’s Masterpass coup
WoraPay’s service allows customers to buy food and drink, and pay in advance with their mobile. This means customers can order their morning coffee or tea (or whisky if you have a crappy job) whilst travelling to the office. Customers are notified when the order is ready and they can collect it en route to their desk, “avoiding waiting times and improving the customer journey”. Unless you use the Piccadilly line like me, where every commute is like something out of Dante’s Inferno from the epic poem The Divine Comedy.
Masterpass will allow users of WoraPay’s mobile wallet WioPay to pay with a one-click payment. Masterpass stores all payment information, including card details from Mastercard and other payment networks, in one place.
Vaidas Adomauskas, CEO and co-founder of WoraPay, gives an example where Lloyds staff are using the service and “could save up to 75,000 hours per year; the equivalent of over 10,700 working days that would otherwise be spent waiting in line to pay”.
Adomauskas adds it is also “seeing that the caterer is experiencing an uplift of 5% in total sales as customers return to vendors that improve their overall experience”.
The partnership was established through the Startupbootcamp FinTech programme, where WoraPay was mentored by Mastercard employees.
WoraPay was launched in the Baltics. In November 2015, it unveiled its service in the UK.
