We are looking for talented Java Developers to work with us on one of the biggest transformation programmes in Europe, providing services that have far-reaching and pivotal roles in citizens' lives. You'll be joining a team working on the most demanding, high profile and exciting new digital service for the UK Government.

In BPDTS Ltd you will be part of an organisation responsible for the delivery of digital platforms and services, real-time analytics and flexible infrastructure, providing secure and resilient services to DWP. Joining an innovative, supportive and fast-growing community of skilled digital professionals, you will work in agile and creative ways to improve public services, with the power to make a difference to the lives of 22 million UK citizens.

You'll bring your outstanding skills to a collaborative team including around 30 Developers, 20 QAs, 15 BAs, IxDs, User Researchers, FE Devs and more.

Our multi-disciplinary agile team is a testing ground and an incubator for ideas and ways of working that will influence the way things are done across government. We want to prove that our creative, innovative approach can work in the public sector, that technology can change lives, and that we can successfully transform the delivery of government products and services. What are we looking for?

Required skill
* Experience working with Java.
* An understanding of Test Driven Development and Behaviour Driven Development
* Understand key principles of modern standards approaches, including agile software development and continuous integration.
* Experience working as part of agile multi-disciplinary teams

Nice to have
* An understanding of developing software within a Micro-Service architectures.
* Experience of using SQL and no-SQL database applications, particularly Mongo
* Experience of working in a Pair Programming environment

BPDTS Ltd provides dedicated services to the Department for Work and Pensions. Our digital, data and technology specialists work closely with experts in DWP Digital's community to make digital services quicker, simpler and more efficient for the millions of people that use them.

Our team has grown from something small, with the feel of a start-up, to something a lot bigger. But we've kept the same spirit and sense of community.

You'll join us in our easy-to-reach digital hub in Central London. Right at the heart of government in Westminster, our hub has been designed for and by members of our digital community. We provide the latest tech and tooling and foster a collaborative culture to help our agile, multi-disciplinary teams think big and try new things.

A short hop from St James's Park tube station and close to Victoria station, we have the best of the city on the doorstep.
