Shaun Geaney, PhD, Quantum Computing Specialist, Standard Chartered
Dr. Geaney has a PhD in Quantum Technology from Royal Holloway, University of London in collaboration with the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), the UK’s National Metrology Institute. After defending his thesis, which resulted in zero corrections, Shaun went on to work for Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC), a spinout from the University of Oxford that builds superconducting quantum computers in the UK and internationally.
He then transitioned to Standard Chartered to develop quantum algorithms for financial applications. With his knowledge in quantum hardware and quantum software, Shaun has strong experience of full-stack quantum systems.
Dave Wallace, Partner, Dave and Dharm Demystify
Dave Wallace, a true digital pioneer, kick-started his career by spearheading the digital transformation of Yellow Pages in the mid-’90s. With over 25 years of experience, his innovative thinking and deep understanding of digital channels have been instrumental in revolutionising the way brands connect with their customers.
Throughout his career, Dave has been obsessed with ensuring that Brands can connect effectively with their customers through digital channels, with a particular focus on the financial services sector. His focus on the end customer and really understanding their behaviours and motivations has been instrumental in ensuring true success for brands such as HSBC, RBS, Manulife, and ANZ in developing and implementing digital strategies that are customer and content first in their approach.
Dave’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for the customer experience led him to found HeathWallace, a specialist agency that helped Banks and other large Blue-Chip clients deliver customer-friendly digital services. Under his leadership, HeathWallace grew internationally, with offices in the US, Asia, and Australia. In 2008, Dave sold HeathWallace to WPP, a testament to his business acumen and success.
He now consults to a number of businesses and hosts and produces the successful fintech podcast, Dave and Dharm Demystify as well as writing for a number of publications including Fintech Futures.
Cameron Emanuel-Burns, Reporter, FinTech Futures
Cameron Emanuel-Burns, a reporter at FinTech Futures, is dedicated to enhancing the accessibility of fintech for a broader audience. He has contributed articles to various media platforms and possesses a strong interest in all aspects of fintech. Prior to his involvement in the financial industry, Emanuel-Burns worked in the podcasting field, where he held editorial, hosting, and production positions for renowned production companies, covering diverse topics. With a research master’s degree in conflict analysis, he conducted a study on the influence of anti-refugee policies on extremism.
