Former Visa data head Jeremy Penzer joins Zopa as chief analytics officer
UK challenger Zopa has appointed former Visa exec Jeremy Penzer as its new chief analytics officer (CAO), effective immediately.

In his new position, Penzer will lead a team of 80 experts in credit decisioning, valuation, and data science, as Zopa prepares to “release a raft of new products and services”.
The digital bank has revealed, that “in recent months”, it has been testing its current account offering in beta, as well as a new “GenAI proposition”.
The incoming CAO brings over 18 years of experience in financial services. After a career in academia, he joined Capital One, where he spent more than 15 years in various leadership roles within data science, credit risk management, and more. Most recently, Penzer served as head of data science for Europe at Visa, starting in September 2023.
Headquartered in London, Zopa offers an array of financial services, including credit cards, savings accounts, BNPL retail and car finance, unsecured personal loans, and point-of-sale (POS) financing.
Since its formation in 2020, the challenger claims to have accumulated over £5.5 billion in deposits, serving 1.4 million customers, with £3 billion in loans on its balance sheet.
With nearly 900 employees, Zopa raised £68 million in an equity funding round led by AP Moller Holding in December to support the rollout of its new products.
