Citi hires Bank of America exec Chris Biotti to lead North America private bank
Citigroup has appointed Bank of America executive Chris Biotti as head of Citi Private Bank in North America, effective May 2025.

Chris Biotti will succeed Cayman Wills in May
Cayman Wills, current head of Citi’s US Northeast and Midwest regions, will serve as interim head until Biotti takes over, according to an internal memo from head of wealth Andy Sieg, seen by Reuters.
Biotti joins Citi from Bank of America Private Bank, where he has worked for the past 12 years leading the Northeast division. His career also includes nearly 13 years at U.S. Trust and positions at Deutsche Bank and Neuberger Berman.
Sieg previously outlined plans to split the group’s private banking leadership into four regional heads upon the departure of global head Ida Liu in January, as per an internal memo first reported by Bloomberg.
The other three positions currently see Steven Lo as head of North Asia, South Asia, Japan and Australia; James Holder as head of UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and Antonio Gonzales as head of Latin America.
In December, Citi also completed the separation of its Mexican retail banking unit, Banamex, from its institutional banking business. The two now operate as Grupo Financiero Banamex and Grupo Financiero Citi México.
