Vacheron will succeed Marc-Henri Desportes, who has served as interim CEO since October 2024 and held the deputy CEO role since August 2018.
According to a company statement, Worldline’s board sought a “new external profile” to lead the firm, with Vacheron’s initial priorities being to strengthen its “talent pool and the company’s culture” and enhance its “client experience”.
The CEO announcement follows a string of new takers for Worldline’s instant payments solution, including collaborations with Banque Raiffeisen, Garanti BBVA International, and Anadolubank Nederland.
Bringing over 30 years of leadership experience across the payments, retail, and banking sectors, Vacheron previously served as CEO of the payments division of Groupe BPCE, one of Europe’s largest retail banks, for the past seven years.
Additionally, he has previously headed up Ingenico Group’s retail arm and held senior roles at Alstom Group, Airbus, and the French Treasury.
