Viva.com acquires majority stake in Austria-based Fiskaltrust
Based in Salzburg, Fiskaltrust provides API-powered fiscalisation middleware and Compliance-as-a-Service designed to integrate with merchants’ existing POS systems. The company, led by CEO Thomas Steininger, claims to service over 100,000 merchants across Europe.
The undisclosed investment will see fiscalisation services for sales invoices and receipts integrated into Viva.com’s banking platform, which already supports businesses with payment acceptance, card issuance, loans and deposit accounts.
The combined offering is aimed at assisting European merchants and other business software vendors to comply with complex cross-border tax regulations, such as the EU’s 2014 e-Invoicing Directive.
Viva.com says customers will also be able to access credit products “tied to both payment volume and fiscalised invoices”.
Viva.com confirms that it has begun rolling out the solution to clients in Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain, with deployment in “additional European countries” due to follow.
