Saudi Arabia’s Alinma Bank partners IBM to power new API platform

Alinma Bank launches new API platform with IBM
The new offering will provide Alinma’s clients with easy access to integrate a range of the bank’s digital solutions via API. The two companies say that the partnership will also help Alinma to “generate new revenue streams” in line with its 2025 transformation strategy.
The bank is utilising a suite of IBM’s hybrid cloud and AI technologies to support the platform’s deployment.
At the core of the offering is IBM API Connect, which leverages microservices-based architecture and generative AI to manage the API lifecycle.
This central element is joined by the IBM Cloud Pak for Integration solution for compliant data access, as well as IBM DataPower Gateway and Red Hat OpenShift for deployment on IBM Cloud.
The platform serves as an update to Alinma’s existing centralised API repository, which is said to support “nearly all banking channels, from retail to B2B”.
