With its entry into the sandbox approved by the CBJ, the company says it plans to “test and deploy open banking services in the Kingdom within a controlled real-market framework”.
The testing will be powered by Fintech Galaxy’s Finx Connect platform, which facilitates real-time bank account data aggregation and payment initiation services, with phase one to focus on account information services.
Fintech Galaxy, based in the UAE, previously leveraged the same platform to enable open banking capabilities for Jordan Ahli Bank in 2023.
The company says that its open banking tech “will be integrated with most banks and financial institutions across Jordan” via its newly formed Fintech Galaxy Jordan division, to be led by the company’s current GM of Levant, Iraq and Egypt, Zaid Khatib.
Fintech Galaxy Jordan will have a “special focus” on Personal Finance Management (PFM) and Business Finance Management (BFM) use cases, the company adds.
While landing regulatory approval for the sandbox, Fintech Galaxy has also confirmed it has raised $9 million to “invest in building its platform and expanding into new markets”.
